Joshua Robert Bowen, Esq.
I am an attorney with over ten years of professional experience in entertainment, advertising, and large-scale corporate environments. I intentionally pursued law after building a career in business and entertainment because I believe practical experience is important when providing legal advice.
I earned my J.D. (3.91 GPA) through Wayne State University Law School’s evening program and I am currently in good standing with the Illinois Bar.

I spent five years at Quick Release_, which became part of ALTEN Technology during my time there. I supported engineering programs for Ford Motor Company, Rivian, and Rolls-Royce, working alongside chief engineers and technical teams to review large documentation sets, identify errors before production, and coordinate corrective actions across multiple stakeholders. I also conducted internal trademark research and supported projects involving new technologies, including early implementation of Ford's internal AI initiatives.
-
For more than a decade, I've worked with the National Ronald McDonald Program coordinating appearances and events across the United States. Much of my work happens behind the scenes, reviewing appearance agreements, coordinating travel, managing vendors, and serving as the on-site representative during high-profile events. I've supported everything from the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade to McDonald's Worldwide Convention, balancing logistics, client expectations, and live production while representing one of the world's most recognizable characters.
-
My first corporate role was with SMS Assist, which has since been renamed Lessen, where I worked with property managers, contractors, and residents to coordinate maintenance programs across the country. As I became more familiar with the business, I developed a standardized process for recurring services that ultimately became its own department.

I earned my J.D. from Wayne State University Law School’s evening program while working full time, graduating with a 3.91 GPA. I focused my courses primarily on business law and intellectual property, including contracts, copyright, trademark, patents, corporations, labor and employment law, sports law, and Name, Image, and Likeness issues. Beyond the classroom, I pursued opportunities to apply those concepts through legal research, contract review, document analysis, and intellectual property projects, including contributing research to a NIL guide submitted to University of Michigan legal counsel.
-
I have worked professionally in New York City, Chicago and touring productions. My theatre work includes both Equity and non-Equity productions. I have produced and toured shows, worked on commercial projects and advised performers and other creatives in contract negotiations.
